At Santa pola harbour you will find boat taxis which go to the Isla de Tabarca every 30 minutes. The Island of Tabarca in Alicante has great charm: a fantastic all year-round climate, very tasty Mediterranean cuisine and beautiful coves and beaches. Tabarca (also called Flat Island) is the only inhabited island of the Valencian Community and at present, 59 people live there. Visit here, speak to the locals and really get to know this extraordinary way of island life.

South of the province

North Alicante Province
Guadalest is a beautiful traditional spanish town. With stunning views, quaint shops, local cafes and museums galore this is a place to make sure you visit. The reservoir can be seen from the top of the town by the church and its crystal clear waters make for some fantastic photos!
Following form there, 10 minutes down the mountain and you will find Algar waterfalls. Famous for the herbal essense advery, these water falls are magestic and really are a sight worth seeing!
South Alicante Province
The salt lakes of Torrevieja are exactly what the title says, these beautiful lakes produce salt from june-october time and this salt is then used for gritting ect. The salt lakes are outstandingly beautiful, rosy pink in color and with flamingos making this their home they really are a treasure to see.
Also, from here you can then visit the famous mud baths of Torrevieja. These mud baths are natural and fantastic for your skin. They are often nicknamed fountains of youth and you can take a quick dip in the mar menor to wash the mud away leaving you feeling refreshed.
